Red Bulls Mark Webber set the pace again in this morning’s first practice at Silverstone with a time of 1m 46.603s. The weather was changeable and intermittent rain showers made for unpredictable grip levels. 

Michael Schumacher was second fastest for Mercedes, 0.660s adrift of Webber, with Rubens Barrichello pushing up to third after a late run for Williams reaped 1m 47.347s. Sergio Perez likewise improved late to 1m 47.422s. The quickest times were set on intermediates with only Hamilton venturing out for a short run on slicks.

Kamui Kobayashi stuffed his  Sauber C30 into the wall and made a bit of a mess of it.
