Ferrari's Fernando Alonso now leads practice 2 in Valencia in front of his home crowd with a time of 1m 37.968s. The first seven cars are covered by just over half a second. Currently lying in 2nd is Hamilton with Vettel in 3rd. A hard charging Michael Schumacher seems to have the bit firmly between his teeth after an impressive performance in Canada and has the Mercedes up to 4th.

Qualifying is on Saturday at 1pm GMT and the race is on Sunday and also starts at 1pm GMT
